Desert Biosphere Reserve - The Desert Biosphere Reserve and Experimental Range is a biosphere reserve and experimental range in western Utah. The experimental range was established in 1933 when 225km² of public lands were designated "as an agricultural range experiment station" by President Herbert Hoover.
Biosphere - The biosphere is that part of a planet's outer shell—including air, land, surface rocks and water—within which life occurs, and which biotic processes in turn alter or transform. From the broadest geophysiological point of view, the biosphere is the global ecological system integrating all living beings and their relationships, including their interaction with the elements of the lithosphere (rocks), hydrosphere (water), and atmosphere (air).
List of Biosphere Reserves in Belarus - The following Biosphere Reserves in Belarus are recognized as Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO:
Biosphere reserves of India - The Indian government has established 13 Biosphere Reserves (UNESCO categories roughly corresponding to IUCN Category V Protected areas), which protect larger areas of natural habitat (than a National Park or Animal Sanctuary), and often include one or more National Parks and/or preserves, along buffer zones that are open to some economic uses. The biosphere reserves include:
Biospherics - History and research of closed systems like Biosphere 2, as well as planetary studies, global ecology, and theories of space exploration.
The Biosphere - Exhibits on the environment, water, and ecosystems. An overview, the history of the museum, educational activities, and Environment Canada links.
Biospherical Instruments, Inc. - Designs and manufactures state-of-the-art submersible and ground-based optical instruments for monitoring water and atmosphere. Product features, careers, and technical support.
