Functional design - Functional design is a design pattern used to simplify the design of computer software. A functional design assures that each modular part of a computer program has only one responsibility and performs that responsibility with the minimum of side-effects on other parts.
Functional verification - Functional verification, in electronic design automation, is the task of verifying that the logic design actually does what is intended. This is a very difficult task, equivalent to program verification, and takes the majority of time and effort in almost all large electronic system design.
Functional requirements - Functional requirements define the internal workings of the software: that is, the calculations, technical details, data manipulation and processing, and other specific functionality that shows how the use cases are to be satisfied. It also contains nonfunctional requirements, which impose constraints on the design or implementation (such as performance requirements, quality standards, or design constraints).
Axiomatic design - Axiomatic design is system design methodology using matrix methods to systematically analyze the transformation of customer needs into functional requirements, design parameters, and process variables. The method gets its name from its use of design principles or design Axioms (i.
