Grappling position - A grappling position refers the relative positions and holds of two combatants engaged in grappling. If combatants are standing, it is called a "stand-up grappling position and if they are on the ground it is called a ground grappling position.

Tacheometry - Tacheometry (from Greek, quick measure), is a system of rapid surveying, by which the positions, both horizontal and vertical, of points on the earth surface relatively to one another are determined without using a chain or tape or a separate levelling instrument. These stations broadcast the difference between the measured satellite pseudoranges and actual (internally computed) pseudoranges, and receiver stations may correct their pseudoranges by the same amount.

North-south position - The north-south position (also known as north/south, four quarter or 69) is a ground grappling position where one combatant is supine, with the other combatant invertedly lying prone on top, normally with the his or her head over the bottom combatant's chest. The north-south position is a dominant position, where the top combatant can apply effective strikes such as knee strikes to the head, or easily transition into various grappling holds or more dominant positions.
